Years of experience helping clients in property law.
Melva is a property lawyer who works in the firm's property team. She has over 35 years of experience working in the area of property law and has worked in the areas of residential property, commercial property, hotels and accommodation, rural property and retirement villages.
Helping people and businesses with complex property matters
Melva has significant experience helping clients in adverse possession claims. She advises owners, whether that be individuals or businesses, on how best to obtain ownership of property.
She is also experienced in helping people with boundary realignments on a property title. She has advised property owners who need to make amendments to boundaries due to subdividing land, consolidating multiple parcels of land, or when there is a discrepancy between the title boundary and occupation.
As a result of having years of experience in property law, she has built a network of valuers and surveyors that can help her clients make the applications as quickly and easily as possible.
Melva's experience also includes reviewing documents for properties that have chain of titles. She is one of the few lawyers in Victoria with the experience to formulate and convert them into a single, new title.
Your best interests are always front-of-mind
Melva has built a reputation for advising clients in a straightforward and helpful manner. She prides herself on helping people understand exactly what their obligations are when purchasing property, especially when entering into off-the-plan contracts and retirement village agreements.
She can also advise people on their rights and an appropriate valuation when their property is being compulsorily acquired by an authority for a road or public transport project.
Melva currently oversees the firm's law clerks in conveyancing.
