Traditionally people injured at work need to call and write to an insurer (often multiple times) when seeking access to an entitlement. This system can cause sometimes lengthy delays when trying to access much needed wages and medical expenses.
If a claim is accepted, did you know that the Victorian WorkCover Authority and their authorised insurers have an app that injured workers can use to:
- Upload Medical Certificates for payment of weekly wages?
- Upload invoices or receipts for payment of medical expenses?
- Record information about their claim?
- Obtain information about entitlements?
- Contact the insurer?
The app does have limitations. You cannot lodge a claim or submit a treatment request online. However, the ability to upload invoices and certificates (rather than relying on more traditional forms of communication) and being able to keep track of claim information and the documents provided in one central place is a great help to injured workers.
