It may come as a surprise that under the Victorian Transport Accident scheme, everyone<\/strong> injured in a transport accident is entitled to benefits from the TAC, even if the accident was their own fault. Further, those convicted of a driving offence are restricted from some entitlements but are always entitled to claim medical and like expenses.<\/p>\r\n

Medical and like expenses can even be claimed from the TAC where the vehicle was unregistered or the driver was unlicensed.<\/p>\r\n

Drivers convicted of the following offences will not be entitled to claim loss of earnings, loss of earning capacity benefits or an impairment benefit:<\/p>\r\n
