\n\t\t\tBridie is a Principal Lawyer in Robinson Gill Lawyers’ Crime & Advocacy team. \t<\/h2>\n\t

She is an experienced criminal defence<\/a> lawyer known for her strategic approach, meticulous preparation and strong advocacy in defending clients facing prosecution.<\/p>\n

Bridie has conduct of and appears regularly in all levels of the Victorian criminal jurisdiction (Children’s Court, Magistrates’ Court, County Court and Supreme Court) across a broad range of summary and indictable matters. She also instructs counsel and assists in the preparation and conduct of complex proceedings in the County Court, Supreme Court, Court of Appeal and High Court.<\/p>\n

Her experience spans serious and complex criminal matters, including (but not limited to) homicide cases, drug offences, sexual offences, family violence related offences and fraud and deception related offences. She is also highly experienced in bail applications across all jurisdictions, recognising that a client’s liberty is often the most critical issue at the earliest stage of a matter.<\/p>\n

Bridie looks forward to developing her expertise in specialist jurisdictions and proceedings, including matters involving the Independent Broad-based Anti-corruption Commission (IBAC) and appearances in the Coroners Court.<\/p>\n

She provides strategic advice and representation in complex and often high-stakes environments, where careful preparation and a considered approach are critical.<\/p>\n

Bridie has a particular interest in Children’s Court proceedings and brings a careful, considered approach to matters involving young people.<\/p>\n\t\n

Bridie’s practice reflects the firm’s commitment to strategic, proactive defence. She does not take a one-size-fits-all approach – each matter is approached with careful analysis and a tailored strategy based on the client’s individual circumstances.<\/p>\n

With a background in psychology and history, Bridie takes the time to understand her clients and the context of their situation. She is a passionate advocate for social justice and is committed to guiding clients through the criminal process while defending their rights robustly at every stage.<\/p>\n

Bridie has been recognised by Doyle’s Guide as a Rising Star in criminal law in Victoria (2022).<\/p>\n

Bridie had carriage of the matter of Buckley v The Queen<\/em> [2022] VSCA 138, which considered the impact of Victoria’s mandatory sentencing regime on young offenders.<\/p>\n
