Superannuation: Disability Benefit
Superannuation funds are predominantly known for their retirement funding arrangements.
This, however, is only one type of benefit/service that a superannuation fund provides.
One of the most important services they offer is that of the disability benefit
– also known as Income Protection; Total Disability Benefit; or, Permanent Disability
Benefit.
Disability benefits are provided to those existing members who are injured or are
taken ill and cannot re-enter the workforce. Either the superannuation fund itself,
or its own insurer, will consider the claim and provide a compensation figure. Payment
of the benefit is typically as a lump sum or periodic.
In order to proceed with your claim or to ask for specialist advice, please talk
with one of our superannuation professionals at Robinson Gill. We can answer any
superannuation question you have and help with all aspects of your claim.
